Lamborghini’s secret might be out.
Lamborghini has just enjoyed a very profitable year, and now they will enjoy the addition of two new models to their lineup. The Lamborghini Aventador is at the end of its 10-year production cycle, and a new one will take its place in 2021. According to Car Buzz, the company is also releasing another V12 model this year, but no one knows what it is. Sources claim that similarly to the company’s 2016 Aventador Miura Homage, this second release may be an Aventador that celebrates the Countach. The Countach celebrates its 50th birthday this year.
Bentley just reached a monumental milestone.
Bentley just finished the production of its 200,000th car at its factory in Crewe, UK. To celebrate the milestone, Bentley photographed its oldest Bentley ( EXP2) next to the 200,000th one. Despite the pandemic and Bentley’s seven-week shutdown, this past year hasn’t stopped the companies sales. The company has made over 100 vehicles more than in 2019. China proved to be a big Bentley customer, which may not be surprising that the 200,000th Bentley is heading home to its new owner in China. This upward trend for luxury car sales during this universal crisis may be due to both a flourishing stock market and the wealthy not being able to travel as much, according to Manhattan Motor’s president, Brian Miller. He believes that the wealthy are seeking enjoyment and pleasure by putting their money into expensive toys during a time when they haven’t been spending as much.
ExxonMobile and Porsche’s race cars are partnering in hopes of decreasing carbon footprint.
Porsche is committed to decreasing carbon emissions with synthetic fuels. They will begin testing synthetic fuels with their racing cars. The cars will be powered ExxonMobile’s Esso renewable racing fuel, and by next year Porsche also plans on testing second-generation Esso renewable fuel. Porsche executive board member, Michael Steiner believes that testing these synthetic fuels on the race track first, “under demanding conditions”, will set the stage for developing more efficient and affordable eFuels.

It appears that this week Volkswagen has caught the world off guard a bit with its publicity stunt. Earlier this week the company announced their intentions to rebrand from Volkswagen to Voltswagen by “mistakenly” posting a draft release with the announcement. Except, the mistake was intentional and all part of a publicity stunt to get us all talking. The company’s then supposed name change didn’t come completely as a surprise. VW has recently positioned itself as an EV manufacturer and is also now the leading seller of EV vehicles in Europe. Their intention to go electric has been clear. Even so, the name change did create a bit of a stir, but now it has officially been sorted out. Volkswagen will remain Volkswagen… at least for now.
